Landscape Batik
The lesson focus on introducing students to the art of landscape batik, exploring its historical significance, and providing foundational skills in drawing landscapes. The goal is for students to develop a deeper appreciation for batik, create their own landscape batik artwork, and improve their ability to depict landscapes through drawing.

4th Grade Lesson
Medium: Fabric & Paint
Students will create their own landscape batik, gain an understanding of the history of batik, and learn about foreground, middle-ground, and background.
STEP 1: Planning
Students will create their landscape drawing and decide which colors to use for their landscape batik.
STEP 2: Batik
Student will use a toothpaste lotion mix to trace their drawing on a fabric.
STEP 3: Coloring
Students will use diluted acrylic paint to paint the fabric.
STEP 4: Wash
Students will hand wash their batik artwork and let it air dry.
